16 Tech Innovation District
16 Tech is an urban innovation district being developed in the historic Riverside neighborhood and within the Indiana Avenue Cultural District on the northwestern edge of downtown Indianapolis. Here, where Fall Creek meets the White River, innovators and entrepreneurs in the fields of life sciences, technology, advanced manufacturing and engineering will come together to leverage their varied skill sets, draw inspiration from the region’s top-ranking research universities and global corporations, and channel their combined creative energy to plant the seeds for Central Indiana’s future economic growth.
Everything at 16 Tech is thoughtfully conceived to bring innovators together, starting with our location. Ideally positioned to access the resources only found near a major academic and corporate hub, 16 Tech is connected to Indianapolis’ thriving research corridor. This means world-class institutions, such as the Indiana University School of Medicine, Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, and the Regenstrief Institute, among many others, as well as global corporations, including Eli Lilly and Company, Cummins, Salesforce, Rolls-Royce and Cook Regentec, are all within easy reach.
Attracting, retaining and developing talent
16 Tech envisions a seamlessly integrated 24-hour live/work/play/learn community that will include flexible office, wet lab and makerspace, multi-family housing, onsite hotel, dining, and retail options as well as easy access to walking and biking trails, local waterways, and a multi-use path that provide ample opportunities to connect to downtown Indianapolis, neighboring communities or reconnect with nature. Together, these assets will help tenants recruit and retain the types of highly motivated scientists, researchers, engineers, designers, and professionals who are needed for success.
